Microlite aluminum oxide ceramic is one alumina ceramic material made of high purity α – Al2O3 and processed by several ceramic manufacturing procedures with crystal grain size less than 6μ m and the main crystal phase is corundum. This material has the character of high melting point, ultra high hardness, good mechanical strength, anti-corrosion, good insulation. Corundum is naturally of ultra high hardness, Mohs 9 in scale, almost equal to diamond in hardness.

Aluminum oxide has several crystal structure, mainly are the mesophase created by the dehydration of aluminum hydrate. The familiar crystal forms of alumina oxide are α – Al2O3, β – Al2O3 and γ – Al2O3.
