• be of combined structure (not less than 90% of aluminium oxide (Al2O3) and silicon dioxide(SiO2). Thus the max silicon dioxide (SiO2) content shall not exceed 80 % of SiO2/Al2O3 weight ratio;

• have high scuffing and crushing proofness, fracture strength;
• be transported and stored in leakproof barrels and by transportation ceramic balls must be put into polypropylene thick-walled bag inside a tank;
• before loading into a barrel balls must be sifted for removal of broken pieces, breakage and products of a smaller and larger DN.

Alumina ball is made of commercial grade alumina (α aluminium oxide) by cool isostatic pressing and high temperature (e.g. 1480°C) kiln firing & sintering. Alumina ball has top 5 outstanding features:
